How to enable anti X-ray on Paper

Steps

  1. Open https://panel.nexuscloud.id/.
  2. If you are using a phone, click the hamburger menu (=) to open the panel navigation.
  3. Click the Files menu.
  4. Scroll down and find the Config folder.
  5. Click the file named paper-world-defaults.yml.
  6. Find the section anti-cheat. Below it there is an anti-xray section.
  7. Under anti-xray, change enabled: false to enabled: true.

Choose the engine mode

Below enabled there is a engine-mode setting. There are two options:

engine-mode: 1

  • Certain blocks (hidden-blocks) are replaced with fake blocks matching the dimension, such as stone, deepslate, netherrack, or end stone.
  • Ores are only hidden when they are behind non-transparent blocks.
  • This mode is lighter on the client, so it usually does not reduce FPS much.

engine-mode: 2

  • Hidden-blocks and replacement-blocks are replaced with randomly generated fake blocks.
  • The fake blocks can cover ores or real blocks behind them.
  • This mode provides stronger X-ray protection, but it can reduce FPS for some players because it is heavier on the client.

Summary:

  • Mode 1 — lighter, better for keeping player FPS stable.
  • Mode 2 — stronger X-ray protection, but heavier for some clients.

Apply the changes

After setting the engine mode, click Save Content and restart the server for the changes to take effect.

Test the difference on your Minecraft server before and after enabling anti X-ray to see the result.
